INVISALIGN – Is it for me? All your questions answered.

Be clear on the facts. With more choices when it comes to teeth straightening, it’s now more important than ever to be clear on the facts – the differences in treatment options, the providers, and the products. Understand some of the potential risks when it comes to teeth straightening. All teeth straightening procedures involve risks, but you can minimize preventable risks to your health and safety if you know the facts, know what to ask, and know what you are getting.

Our Invisalign accredited dentist is able to provide complete orthodontic care through the use of Invisalign clear alignment trays. Each set of trays is worn for one to two weeks before being replaced with the next set of trays in the series. This unique approach allows the teeth to be moved without the use of traditional braces.

Invisalign patients love that there are no dietary restrictions, and keeping their teeth clean is as simple as removing the aligners to brush and floss as normal. Invisalign patients also require less frequent visits to our office because there is no need for adjustments, and the trays are sent home with the patient in advance.

Dr. Nash explains about Dysport

Whether you are looking to soften forehead lines, crow’s feet or frown lines, Botox and Dysport® safely and effectively reduces wrinkles and helps prevent signs of aging.

An effective treatment that reduces signs of ageing.

A smile is a complete face event, that means your teeth and gums are the picture and your skin and face are the frame of your smile; then, who better can understand your cosmetic needs and provide you with a long term healthy smile than a highly trained dentist who perform what we call today as Complete Dento-Facial Aesthetics !!

Dr. Nash is trained by The Australasian Academy of Dento-Facial Aesthetics (AADFA)

Here’s what an AADA trained Dentist can do…….

Cosmetic Dentists are among the only people to be able to offer a complete approach to facial aesthetics.

By first setting solid foundations through establishing optimal oral health and aesthetics, Dentists then add Muscle relaxants “like Dysport”, Dermal Fillers and Skincare enhancements to complete the picture, making treatment less painful, more convenient and more comprehensive. Whether you are looking to soften forehead lines, crow’s feet or frown lines, Dysport® safely and effectively reduces wrinkles and helps prevent signs of ageing.

Instead of facial aesthetic treatment being disjointed and leading to compromised results, Dentists ensure that lines are softened, lips are enhanced and skin health is optimized to compliment the aesthetic dentistry done in the mouth.

Muscle relaxants can be used to relieve discomfort from tight and tender facial muscles due to grinding or clenching as well as to soften and improve facial wrinkles for more natural-looking healthy smiles.

Dr. Adam

I’m very grateful to be part of our happy dedicated team here at Kumeu Dental practicing modern dentistry in a stylish well-equipped surgery that also happens to be extremely close to my home here at Muriwai Beach.
I enjoy doing all aspects of Dentistry, finding the beautiful transformations in people’s smiles extremely rewarding with the Cosmetic Dentistry that I do and I also have a particular skill in the extraction of difficult teeth when required, including the safe removal of impacted wisdom teeth under intravenous sedation for our highly anxious patients.
I love music, travel, the beach and of course my beautiful family.

Dr. John

John has been working alongside Paul at Kumeu Dental for over 20 years, experiencing so many changes in Kumeu, the growth of The Practice, and in Dentistry itself.

John qualified in 1986, after 5 years in the Dental School at The University of Newcastle upon Tyne in the UK – Coincidentally Paul’s hometown!

He has spent most of his working life in New Zealand and has embraced the multitude of advances in his profession, whilst still drawing on his depth of experience to set his patients at ease, and to focus on their individual needs and concerns.

John loves the variety of general practice, and especially enjoys the broad spectrum of people and their dental needs that Kumeu has to offer. Many of John’s long-term patients had previous experiences which led to anxiety and lack of dental care for many years, resulting in sometimes being too embarrassed or upset to even consider seeing a dentist.

The extensive dental problems, and potential costs, that this can create can all be overcome, and John’s caring and relaxed approach has led to many happy outcomes for patients who are now proud of what they have been able to achieve, and are relaxed, regular, welcome visitors to us, with confidence in their appearance, their smiles and their treatment.

Outside the practice, John has always loved outdoor pursuits – sailing, cycling, skiing, diving, and exploring New Zealand’s beautiful environment. His partner works in a Specialist Practice and keeps him on his toes and very happy! Between their four children, and the constantly expanding number of pets, the time left for outdoor pursuits is diminishing fast. A nice evening rustling up great food and relaxing at home is the perfect way to end a busy day in Kumeu!

Dr. Paul

Paul is the longest-serving member of the Kumeu dental team that’s why he nearly looks like the oldest person there!!!

He was born and raised in the North East of England and then moved on to Manchester University where he completed his dental degree and graduate program.

He then got itchy feet and decided to travel the world. The backpacking trip lasted a while and took in some cool places but nothing prepared him for falling head over heels in love. The love affair has lasted twenty-six years , produced three beautiful children and confirmed New Zealand is the best place on the planet. He really loves what he does, yes people think that’s weird but there is no mistaking his passion and enthusiasm for what he does.

He started Kumeu Dental when it was a small single chair surgery and guided it to the multi-discipline, multi chair surgery it is today.

He has a special interest in orthodontics and cosmetic dentistry and has undertaken a huge amount of postgraduate courses to develop his skills and knowledge to give his patients the smile they want.

The team at Kumeu Dental reflects his values and beliefs and you will struggle to find a friendlier, more committed team.

Outside of the surgery, Paul is a long-suffering Newcastle United supporter but on a happier note likes a bit of snowboarding which helps him to forget that.
